Rear Church Drainage Project

Through the grace of God, on Friday 2 September the much needed drainage works at the back of the church were completed. This project fixed storm water and sewer drainage issues that have been ongoing for many years. After initial excavation many issues were visible once reaching the pipes that were not known to be the cause of major flooding over the years such as broken, blocked and bellied pipes.

New concrete sleepers were used in the new retaining wall to replace the previous rotted wooden sleepers. A drainage channel was also installed along the entirety of the retaining wall to assist in water run off with a new concrete path poured at an angle away from the church building. To ease the access into the rear area a ramp was also added from the north carpark side.

We thank everyone for their patience and support during the works in this project! #stmarkscocmelb
